As one of the nation’s premier centers for original philosophical research, the Philosophy Department is the academic home to a wonderfully dynamic and engaged community of students in daily interaction with a faculty of world-renowned philosophers.

The University of Arizona Program in Philosophy, Politics, Economics and Law is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow in any area of PPE. This position is expected to end after a one year term and is not expected to be renewed. The Postdoctoral Fellow will teach one course per semester, and will have an active research agenda.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Postdoctoral Fellow will teach one course per semester; one each year will be in Philosophy and one in PPEL. The Postdoctoral Fellow is expected to have a strong research agenda and participate in the research life of the Philosophy Department and PPEL program. The Postdoctoral Fellow will report to the Head of the Philosophy Department.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ph.D in Philosophy at the time an offer is made.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Publications in highly regarded philosophy journals.
  • A PhD dissertation focusing on PPE issues.
  • Experience as a lead teacher in classes.
