Position Summary

The Polt Laboratory in the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department at The University of Arizona is accepting applications for a full-time post-doctorate professional position. The candidate will design, synthesize and test glycopeptide drug candidates in a variety of in vitro and in vivo assays.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the use of an automated peptide synthesizer, lyophilizer and HPLC.
  • Responsible for characterization of the drug candidates using NMR, CD, and analysis of the data using Molecular Operating Enviroment (MOE) software.
  • Additional duties may apply.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Chemistry or a related field.
  • Proficiency in multi-step organic synthesis, familiarity with organic electronic materials, and methods to characterize same.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide (VIP)and Pituitary Adenylate Cyclase Activating Peptide (PACAP).
