Position Summary

The Technical Expert-Oral Health will teach oral hygiene and oral care to adults and children and provide oral health screenings, apply fluoride varnish and apply dental sealants to children. This position will prepare oral hygiene demonstrations and other workshops to encourage improvement of oral hygiene and health practices. This position will also create training programs and materials. There will be travel required throughout the greater-Cochise County area.

This position is headquartered at 1140 N. Colombo Sierra Vista, AZ and Douglas, AZ. A valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation is required upon employment.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conduct Oral Health screenings to children throughout Cochise County.
  • Apply fluoride varnish and dental sealants to children throughout Cochise County.
  • Educate children on healthy oral health habits for their family.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Minimum Qualifications
  • Licensed oral health professional including Dentist, Oral Hygienist, Registered Nurse, Physician, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician’s Assistant.
  • A valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation is required upon employment.
Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
  • Use of Dental Technology – specifically fluoride varnish and dental sealants.
  • Knowledge of teaching principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of community health and social agencies and children’s programs.
  • Ability to work effectively with children.
  • Ability to follow required technical materials.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
