Position Summary

The Computer Assisted Real-Time (CART) Reporter will provide computer assisted real-time (CART) service to individuals who are deaf or hard-of-hearing in fast-paced settings.

Multiple positions are available.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provides computer aided real-time service in the classroom during class-related activities, and at University sponsored events.
  • Develops real-time, computerized dictionary in preparation for a variety of technical assignments.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Minimum Qualifications
Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications

Completion of a court reporting curriculum to achieve a minimum of 200 words per minute reporting speed; OR, two years of experience in computer assisted real-time reporting; OR, any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of experience providing computer-assisted real-time translation services to deaf or hard-of-hearing individuals in a post-secondary setting.
  • One year of attendance at a recognized technical training school.
