Position Summary

The Rebecca Page Lab is seeking a Research Technician to assist in multiple projects, with a focus on cell culture for protein expression. The laboratory uses structural and biochemical techniques to investigate the molecular basis of health and disease, especially cancer. The ideal candidate will be energetic and motivated with a strong work ethic, independent and well organized. In addition, the selected candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to work both independently and within the context of a group. This position will report directly to Dr. Rebecca Page.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Cell culture, including maintenance and protein expression in mammalian and insect cell culture (BV) systems.
  • Molecular Biology: Protein purification – cell lysis; affinity purification (his-tag, IEX), gel filtration chromatography, use of FPLC and/or HPLC systems.

Bachelor’s degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment; OR, Four years research experience appropriate to the area of assignment; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in cell culture.
  • Experience in biochemistry and biochemical assays.
  • Experience with laboratory management.
  • Strong work ethic and an interest in developing independent research projects.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
