Position Summary

The School of Journalism at The University of Arizona seeks an adjunct instructor to provide part-time instruction for Journalism major and minor students for Fall 2018 classes, contingent upon availability of funding.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Instruct undergraduate students in field of expertise.
  • Plan class lectures and assignments.
  • Grade assigned papers and exams.
  • Hold regular office hours.
  • Assign grades to students, based upon performance in class assignments and exams.
  • Attend meetings as required.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and significant professional journalistic experience and/or demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in related field.
  • Previous teaching experience at college or university level.
  • Demonstrated commitment to undergraduate education.
  • Preference will be given to applicants with expertise in US and International Media Law and Ethics.
  • Preference will be given to applicants with expertise in theory and techniques of reporting journalism.
