Position Summary

The Extension Program Assistant will recruit, teach and work with limited income families/individuals in Pinal County on the improvement of nutrition, health and home management practices.

Duties & Responsibilities

•Identify and recruit limited income families/individuals within assigned geographic area.
•Become knowledgeable in identified curriculum and material.
•Plan and prepare teaching materials.
•Use prescribed curriculum to teach families, individuals, groups in the area of nutrition education and related disciplines.
•Implement pre/post assessment for all program participants.
•Maintain records of statistical data and progress of families.
•Maintain and complete all forms required by the University of Arizona.

•Ability to work and teach individuals, families and groups.
•Ability to follow identified curriculum.
•Ability to work well with others.

Minimum Qualifications

•Access to reliable transportation with the ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.
•Must be able to work a flexible schedule, nights and weekends.

Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications

One year of instructional leadership, volunteer development or community organization experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education. Possession of a current Arizona Type D driver’s license upon employment.

Preferred Qualifications

•Experience teaching and working with individuals, families and groups.
•Computer skills
•Familiarity with Pinal County.
•Bilingual in Spanish and English.
