Position Summary

The University of Arizona Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering is seeking a qualified candidate to perform research under the direction of Professor Shane Snyder. The position will involve assisting in team leadership, including laboratory staff, graduate students, and undergraduate students. The position will also require funding proposal and peer-review manuscript writing to promote research group growth.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Organize team and project meetings on a regular basis.Collaborate in the planning and design of activities for research project(s).
  • Oversee and evaluate laboratory safety at the Water & Energy Sustainable Technology (WEST) Center.
  • Serve as lead in the development of research proposals as well as dissemination of research findings.
  • Assist with managing a research team of laboratory staff, graduate, and undergraduate students.
  • Prepare research publications, reports and presentations for peer-reviewed manuscripts.
  • Provide frequent and accurate communication with lead professor and senior staff.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree in environmental engineering, or related engineering field.
  • Research experience in the area of membrane and advanced oxidation treatment technologies.
  • Practical research experience in liquid chromatography with mass spectrometric detection.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated track record of first-author peer-reviewed journal publications.
  • Proven track record of successfully funded research proposals.
