Position Summary

The College of Social and Behavioral Sciences (SBS) is accepting applications for a Program Coordinator position with focused service to SBS Centers and Initiatives, including Human Rights and Food Studies. The successful applicant must be able to work independently under general direction, handle tasks quickly and responsibly and will be expected to interpret and explain procedures to a variety of constituents.

Duties & Responsibilities

Provide general administrative support for SBS Centers and Initiatives.

Provide event support, including: reserving venue or mall space, catering, project materials preparation, logistics, etc.

Manage websites and listservs related to each SBS Center and Initiative. Prepares materials/brochures/newsletters.

Sends and receives emails, answering questions or/and directing to appropriate SBS Center Directors or Center staff members.

Arrange a variety of committee meetings, Community Advisory Board meetings, and calendar appointments within the individual Centers. Anticipate and prepare background materials as needed.

Plans and arranges speaker logistics for conferences or meetings under the general instruction of the Center Directors and communicates with appropriate team within the SBS Dean’s Office.

Make travel arrangements for SBS Centers and Initiative Directors and staff members, including travel authorizations, reservations for airplane flights, rental cars, hotels, conferences, etc.

Scheduling of classes for the Centers and Initiatives that have an academic component.

Coordinate the admissions process for those academic programs.

Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, editing abilities, and strong project management skills.
• Ability to work independently, with a high degree of self-motivation.
• Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines. Strong organizational skills.
• Knowledge and experience utilizing Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Knowledge of Qualtrics, Google Forms, and/or similar survey software system.

Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in field appropriate to area of assignment AND two years of administrative/coordinative program experience; OR, six years of progressively responsible administrative coordinative program experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge and experience utilizing university systems (UAccess – Student), PeopleSoft, or other web-based Enterprise application systems.
