Position Summary

Postdoctoral Position in Developmental and Evolutionary Biology University of Arizona – Tucson AZ A postdoctoral position is available in Lisa Nagy’s lab to study the development and evolution of the insect segmental oscillator. The project employs wide range of approaches including embryology, genetics, transgenic manipulations, and genomics. The long-term objectives of the project are to understand the function and evolution of the gene regulatory network that patterns segments and how that network translates into differential cell behavior.

Duties & Responsibilities

We are looking for a creative, curious, and self-motivated colleague. Our lab and the UA campus provides an interactive and friendly atmosphere and opportunities for interdisciplinary interactions among the many insect biologists, throughout multiple disciplines on campus. Opportunities to pursue interests in teaching would be available and the project involves extensive teamwork with collaborators in a small college. Earliest start date would be May 2018.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Minimum Qualifications

PhD in developmental biology, molecular and cellular biology, genetics, genomics, or related field is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Applicants with interdisciplinary training and interests are especially welcome.
Previous experience with embryo injection and/or transcriptome analysis is a plus, but not required.
