Position Summary

The International Recruitment Specialist, reports to the Marketing and Communications Manager. This position is a key part of the ongoing recruitment functions of International Admissions, Office of Undergraduate Admissions at the University of Arizona. The International Recruitment Specialist role requires individuals to engage inbound international student recruitment, identify and create opportunities for participation in recruitment activities focused on increasing international student applications around the world and participate in outreach events online, on the phone, and in person through various platforms. The primary focus of this position is to help prospective international students by walking them through the University’s enrollment process, and to support them along the student experience by utilizing various communication tools including telephone, social media messaging applications, email, and others. Travel to assigned region required.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead recruiting efforts for international students from Latin and North America.
• Strong understanding of UA’s enrollment processes and systems.
• Advise prospective students on the requirements and procedures for the admissions process using a variety of communication methods.
• Effectively communicate international admission and enrollment information and represents the University of Arizona, its mission, programs, rankings, policies, and procedures to a broad range of constituents.
• Conducts individual and small group admissions counseling for all students in the funnel, including prospective students, applicants, admitted, committed, newly arrived, current students, and other populations.
• Maintain a pipeline of students, which will include following a prescribed communications plan and prioritizing prospective, applicants, and admitted student’s needs.
• Conducts one on one admissions counseling with parents, school or college personnel and other interested individuals and groups.
• Coordinate and participate in international college fairs and high school visits.
• Coordinate and participate in events on campus, including giving individual and small group tours to group of students, counselors, and others.
• Conduct international admissions presentations and training in person and/or virtually to students abroad, counselors, advisors, recruitment partners, and others.
• Follow up with school counselors, prospects, and agents from fairs, school visits, and other activities through personalized communication.
• Maintain a cooperative working relationship with on and off campus partners.
• Identifies opportunities for increasing UA’s international presence via international recruitment and support organizations including, but not limited to, NAFSA, IIE, IACAC, and Education USA.
• Manages a portfolio of recruitment and marketing opportunities as is appropriate to specific skills, abilities, and interests.
• Required to travel domestically and internationally covering assigned region
• Provide assistance and troubleshooting support to new hires via shadowing.
• Provide assistance to the front office when needed.
• Provide personalized assistance to students, parents, and others seeking help at the front office.
• Provide assistance with email follow ups in the general admissions email inbox
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Must hold a valid passport.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Should be able to handle considerable and varied responsibilities in a complex environment.
• Flexible availability for required domestic and international travel.
• Have outstanding organization, time-management, multi-tasking, writing and speaking skills, and be collaborative.
• Self-motivated, strategic, but flexible and able to work on multiple tasks with changing dynamics and priorities as needed.
• Should be highly enthusiastic about helping international students.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficient in a second language
• Experience in admissions, higher education, or other related field
