Position Summary

The UA Alumni Association marketing coordinator will assist with the marketing strategy of all UAAA programming and alumni engagement while developing messaging and brand consistency. This position will work as a part of the Marketing and Communications team and report to the senior manager of marketing and business development to implement best practices for building brand equity and recognition among stakeholders. The candidate will assist with the development and growth of the engagement programs through multiple communications platforms and collaborate with campus and community constituents to develop strategic partnership opportunities.

Duties & Responsibilities

Alumni Association Marketing and Brand Management Overview
• In collaboration with the UA Alumni Association staff, the coordinator will assist with the implementation of marketing, engagement and brand strategy for UAAA programs.
• Evaluate programs and campaigns for marketing and engagement effectiveness.
• Work with campus constituents to maintain consistent UA and UAAA messaging.
• Work with data analytics to further develop alumni profiles to execute appropriate communication strategies and predict alumni engagement: recent grads, young alumni, mid-range age alumni, and beyond.
• Create strategic ways to increase engagement and brand awareness of the UAAA.

• Assist with the production of UAAA marketing materials including brochures, flyers, email communications, and others.
• Collaborate with the design department to produce promotional materials, ad campaigns and marketing collateral.
• Assist with Homecoming marketing including public relations, alumni engagement, event planning and news outreach.
• Work with UAAA departments and programs to develop strategic marketing and communication plans
• Work with the data analytics team to research and analyze alumni behavior (e.g. purchasing habits, trends and preferences).
• Work with senior manager of digital content and strategy to plan and coordinate quarterly digital marketing campaigns to engage alumni in UAAA programs across social media and web and email communications platforms.
• Update web pages and digital communications to ensure consistent brand messaging.
• Assist with corporate partnership activation and fulfillment.
• Develop marketing material for UAAA programs, services and membership.

Membership Marketing
• Assist with targeted marketing communications for membership and implement through web, digital, e-news, social media and video.
• Manage direct mail membership campaigns including working with vendors to design, print and mail.
• Write, create and distribute members-only email newsletters.
• Work with the data analytics team to develop reports on membership growth and strategy
• Manage communications and fulfillment of the membership benefits program.
• Work with membership benefit partners to ensure discounts and offerings are up-to-date with appropriate codes and links.
• Assist with targeted membership marketing campaigns to engage specific alumni groups.
• Present consistent messaging, communications, and efforts designed to build and foster strong stakeholder support.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Ability to work with cross-functional teams
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple concurrent projects
• Demonstrate the ability to work independently or as a team member, and to follow through on assignments with minimal direction
• Advanced skills in using software and online tools to manage projects and internal processes

Minimum Qualifications

• B.S. in marketing, communications or related field
• At least 3 years of experience in higher education marketing and communications

Preferred Qualifications

• High level of written and verbal communication skills with excellent presentation skills
• Ability to influence and drive excitement among team members
• Knowledge in marketing research and data analytics
• Solid computer skills, including MS Office, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, web analytics and customer relationship management and content management system software
