The Cloud Financial Analyst will have a cross functional reporting structure to UITS Senior Director of Finance and Administration and IT Manager for Platform Services. The Cloud Financial Analyst will support our investment in Cloud products and services.

The analyst will perform detailed cost and financial analyses related to cloud consumption to drive business insights and decisions. The role is best suited for a motivated, enthusiastic individual who is excited about using his/her expertise in financial analysis in the emerging world of cloud technologies.

Duties & Responsibilities

•Performs financial or cost analyses to ensure we are leveraging cloud provider services effectively and efficiently.
•Compares estimates to actuals, updating forecasts and budgets accordingly.
•Design optimal fee structure for campus both strategic investment and a plan for invoicing.
•Establishes processes to allocate cloud costs to consumption-based pricing models.
•Develops financial queries, dashboards and reports.
•Quantifies and evaluates TCO of cloud services.
•Conducts operational audits and analyzes data for possible improvements; Prepares reports summarizing findings, alternatives and recommendations.
•Determines if current policies, practices and internal controls are adequate to meet management objectives and makes recommendations for improvements.

•Knowledge of cost and financial accounting principles, practices and procedures.
•Knowledge of financial forecasting.
•Ability to read and understand technical terminology and documentation.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•Excellent communication skills -ability to effectively present ideas, both orally and in written form.
•Strong customer service and organizational skills.
•Works well independently and with a team.
•Self-motivated and able to multitask in a fast-paced ever-changing enterprise environment.
•Ability to perform business analyst functions, such as soliciting requirements, writing functional design specifications, developing test scripts, and implementing solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

•Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration AND three years of auditing, cost accounting and/or financial analysis experience;


•Bachelor’s degree with a major in Accounting, Finance or related area or a Bachelor’s degree with advanced accounting course work AND four years of auditing, cost accounting and/or financial analysis


•Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Amazon Web Services and/or Azure
• Experience working in information technology industry.
