Position Summary

The Division of Human Resources (HR), is seeking a full-time Business Analyst (BA) to participate in the analysis, design, testing, and implementation of business process and technology solutions. The BA will act as a liaison between functional users and development teams to identify, analyze and translate needs into specifications. The BA will support two HR teams, benefits and recruitment, and their associated human capital management and applicant tracking systems. The successful candidate will possess excellent organizational, technical, and communication skills.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Gather and analyze functional user requirements in order to design, implement and troubleshoot information systems applications.
  • Create test plans, test cases, test scripts, and coordinate unit testing, regression testing, integration testing, and performance testing.
  • Assist with medium to large sized projects or a portion of a project. Help define requirements and test plans, and review results to ensure business goals are met.
  • Create and maintain project documentation.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, make recommendations for solutions and create necessary specifications.
  • Conduct research to determine if solutions to business requirements currently exist within or outside the business unit, and if not, whether new solutions are feasible.
  • Assist with system configuration when business processes change or as necessary for projects and enhancements.
  • Prepare and maintain process flows and standard operating procedures.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to address and solve system issues.
  • Perform miscellaneous transactional data entry and other duties as assigned or required to meet unit and University goals and objectives.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Excel and Word in a work environment.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and communicating with multiple stakeholders.
Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems or related field AND one year of experience in procedural, management or business analysis work; OR, five years of experience in procedural, management or business analysis work; OR, any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with HR systems and related business principles.
  • Knowledge of employee benefits and basic plan design.
  • Experience working with PeopleSoft HCM 9.2.
  • Ability to use SQL or other query tools to perform analysis.
  • Skill in the use of computer programming and job control languages.
  • Skill in installing, configuring and maintaining systems software.
  • Knowledge of talent management concepts.
  • Knowledge of SaaS cloud based software systems.
  • Experience in information technology environments.
  • Experience in higher education business environments.
