The Department of Immunobiology at the University of Arizona’s College of Medicine is growing into a nationally and internationally recognized research and educational center. Currently, the Department of Immunobiology is seeking applicants for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Schenten lab. Research in the Schenten Lab centers on the role of pattern recognition receptors in the regulation of innate and adaptive immune responses. In this context, the lab generates and analyzes genetically-engineered mouse models to investigate the immune response to immunizations, viral and bacterial infections, and cancer. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and ambitious individual with a great passion for science that desires to join a team-oriented lab. A solid track record of publications and related research achievements is expected. Previous experience in immunology, microbiology, mouse genetics, or related disciplines is highly desired.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conduct independent experiments, evaluate the data, and keep appropriate records of all research activities.
  • Read the literature, participate in scientific discussions with other members of the lab, and attend mandatory lab meetings.
  • Perform assigned lab duties to assist in the maintenance of stock reagents or the general operation of the lab.
  • There may be additional duties assigned as it relates to this position.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Minimum Qualifications
  • PhD in immunology, microbiology, molecular biology, biochemistry, or related fields.
  • Experience with modern techniques in immunology, microbiology, molecular biology, biochemistry, and tissue culture.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Firm grasp of the relevant literature in immunology and/or microbiology.
