Position Summary

The University of Arizona Health Sciences, College of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology seeks a qualified candidate for the position of Coordinator, Administrative Services. The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology is responsible for providing instruction in pharmacology, toxicology and medicinal chemistry to PharmD students and for providing graduate and undergraduate education to students in a variety of research tracks.

This position will report directly to the Department Head and will provide complex administrative, academic and research support for the department.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Support the department’s strategic plan by providing leadership in academic, administrative and management procedures, policies and practices.
  • Coordinate, plan, and schedule symposiums, meetings, recruiting visits, and visiting speakers including assisting with preparation of presentations, making travel arrangements, scheduling rooms, preparing itineraries, and preparing reimbursements.
  • Prepare letters and act as the administrative liaison between the Department Head and internal and external representatives.
  • Coordinate courses, schedule proctors, help with exam preparation and grading, enter contact hours and post grades for classes.
  • Support the Promotion and Tenure process including updates and reports in UAVitae.
  • Assist the department with grant preparation and routing.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as it relates to the position.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Knowledge of organizational practices and policies.
  • Skills in professional writing and editing.
  • Ability to effectively communicate.
  • Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, data collection and D2L.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and safeguard information.
  • Ability to work with academic and administration staff members.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of science AND four years of administrative/coordinative experience Or Master’s degree in the field of science AND three years of administrative/coordinative experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge and experience working with D2L.
