Position Summary

The School of Animal and Comparative Biomedical Sciences in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at the University of Arizona invites applicants to apply for the position of an Assistant Professor of Practice in the Rack Track Industry Program. This position is for a full-time 1.0 FTE fiscal appointment that is non-tenure eligible faculty, (90%) Instruction and Service (10%). This is a year-to-year position.

Duties & Responsibilities

The successful candidate for this appointment will teach 6 courses (a combination of online and lecture) per academic year, such as:
ACBS 301 – Financial and Economic Strategies
ACBS 302 – Management and Human Side of Orgranizations
ACBS 340 – Race Track Marketing and Media Communication
ACBS 446 – Human Resources Management
ACBS 447 – Legal Environment of Business
ACBS 498b – RTIP Capstone

• Teaching duties may be adjusted to meet the needs of the School and College.
• Assist in keeping the curriculum current with industry trend, maintaining and enhancing marketing and recruitment of students and identifying program donors.
• Contribute to the service responsibilities of RTIP through participation on committees in department, college, university, and national professional societies as warranted.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Effective communication skills

Minimum Qualifications

• JD or PhD in a Business-related field
• A minimum of five years of teaching experience at a college or university

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the horse racing industry.
