Position Summary

The University of Arizona’s Marketing & Communications division is seeking a Social Media Manager. As a major voice for the UA brand, this role is crucial to building awareness, increasing engagement and driving campaign metrics. Duties & Responsibilities

• Build and engage audiences for the University of Arizona’s social media accounts
• Produce and post social media content daily
• Build relationships, community and processes with fellow UA social media leaders
• Use analytics to demonstrate social media’s success and areas for improvement
• Own the social media crisis-communication plan
• Strategically manage official social media platforms
• Set and achieve metric-driven goals that advance institutional priorities

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Ability to build relationships within the immediate team and across campus

Minimum Qualifications

• At least two years in social media content production, strategy, planning and execution
• Strong social media instincts. Dedicated process for staying up-to-date on industry trends.
• Demonstrated success establishing and growing a brand via social media
• Experience developing short- and long-term social media strategies
• High comfort level with creating, producing and posting content across all platforms
• Demonstrated ability to create clear and error-free social media content
• Ability to build, organize and execute upon the content calendar
• Expert knowledge of social media platforms and audiences
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Positivity and an ability to adapt to shifting priorities and timelines

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in a related field
• At least five years in social media content production, strategy, planning and execution
• Strong ability to collaborate in a team environment
• Experience leading social media strategies for a large organization
• Confidence to suggest ideas amongst collaborators — even if other ideas are ultimately chosen
• Enthusiasm when making other people’s ideas successful
• Ability to create high-quality copy for a brand in a short time frame
• Ability to inject personality into posts while maintaining the reputation of the university
