Position Summary

The Event Attendant provides front of house support for UA Presents and all Centennial Hall events and performances. Centennial Hall houses the UA Presents and Broadway in Tucson presenting series as well as several other university and community events. This position will consist of ushering and working in the box office to provide the best in customer service while maintaining a safe environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Serves customers both over the phone and in person selling tickets to all UA Presents and Centennial Hall performances and events.
• Processes and take payments in the box office.
• Provides accurate information on all aspects of ticketing and front of house offerings.
• Provides a professional standard of customer care; this is especially important as box office and usher staff are the first point of contact for patrons and must act as a reception for visitors to the building.
• Collects tickets from patrons and ensures tickets are valid.
• Directs patrons to seating locations.
• Helps with set-up and take-down of lobby/patio.
• Helps ensure all ADA guidelines and safety protocols are met.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Knowledge of the seating arrangements and special facilities of the building.
• Skill in handling money including making change.
• Ability to effectively communicate.

Minimum Qualifications

No prior experience required.

Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications

No prior experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Customer Service Experience
• Cash Handling Experience
• Knowledge of computerized ticketing systems
• Experience in a Front of House position in a theater or other live performance venue
• Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds.
