Position Summary

The Office of International Education, a unit within the division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management | Academic Initiatives and Student Success seeks a Director of Global Curriculum. The Director of Global Curriculum is responsible for providing academic leadership at UA global locations (micro-campuses). The Director of Global Curriculum works with colleges and departments to develop and effectively deliver UA courses and degree programs at global locations, while maintaining high levels of academic quality and integrity and ensuring student learning success and satisfaction. The Director of Global Curriculum reports to the Vice Provost for International Education. Work may include evening and weekend hours.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and dynamic academic administrative leadership for global locations.
• Lead the development and approval of articulation plans for dual degrees offered at global locations.
• Collaborate with colleges to define, build shared understandings, and implement practices that lead to excellent student learning and success at global locations.
• Coordinate with colleges on the design, implementation, review, and continuous improvement of curriculum and its delivery at global locations.
• Provide strategic leadership in working with colleges to develop curriculum for global locations, including a global general education curriculum and pathway programs at global locations.
• Maintain and oversee effective academic and curriculum structures at global locations, including through assessment of teaching and student learning outcomes.
• Foster creativity, experimentation, and innovation in teaching and learning within the global micro-campus network.
• Ensure UA standards for academic integrity are understood and enforced at global locations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Project Management:
• Collaborate with Academic Affairs to ensure implementation of academic policies and processes at global locations.
• Collaborate with the Office of Digital Learning and with individual colleges and departments to manage the development of flipped courses and curriculum for global locations.
• Develop and implement best practices for training of faculty and co-professors at global locations, including in the use of flipped classrooms and other technology-assisted learning.
• Develop cross-disciplinary structures, systems, policies, practices, and support to improve collaboration and innovation for micro-campus programs.
• Design assessment tools to evaluate academic effectiveness at micro-campuses, analyze data and provide recommendations.
• Improve communication, services, systems, and structures to maximize access and excellence in academic program delivery at global locations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Program management skills.
• Exemplary interpersonal skills, and verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong team building skills and ability to collaborate across campus and disciplines.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s degree; AND
• Minimum of five years combined experience in a teaching and/or administrative role in a college or university setting, or related experience.
• Demonstrated experience in leadership, project management, strategic planning and assessment tools.
• Familiarity with Peoplesoft or similar higher-ed management applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ten years combined experience in a teaching and/or administrative role in a college or university setting, or related experience.
• Terminal degree (Ph.D., Ed.D., etc.)
• Experience teaching and/or developing flipped courses.
