Position Summary

The Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine is currently seeking applications for Curriculum Development Specialist. This position will be tasked with the development of curriculum within the Center’s current programs including dietary supplements, botanicals, vitamins and minerals, in support of our teaching physicians, advanced nurse practitioners, and physician’s assistants within the University of Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine fellowship program. Review and development of curriculum content research, writing, and medical editing of assigned medical topics; de novo medical course development in alignment with strategic plan and educational needs of the University of Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine. Teaching will include both online and in person activities. Potential for involvement in design and implementation of educational research.

The Center is seeking an individual who is able to work with diverse students, trainees and colleagues, and who has experience with a variety of teaching methods and curricular perspectives.

This position will also require a non-salaried faculty appointment, provided by the Department of Medicine, which will adhere to the University Of Arizona College Of Medicine Guidelines for Promotion and Tenure process.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Work with the Fellowship Director and instructional web designers to create content in integrative medicine for Fellows and Integrative Medicine in Residency (IMR) participants.
  • Teach physicians, advanced nurse practitioners, physician assistants, residents, and medical students.
  • Participate in online and in-person teaching of a range of integrative medicine topics.
  • Potential for involvement in educational research related to fellowship, IMR, and course development.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Demonstrated experience of and commitment to Integrative Medicine
  • Demonstrated experience with computer-based learning programs
  • Excellent teacher with outstanding speaking credentials
  • Interfacing with local and national faculty in IM.
Minimum Qualifications
  • MD, DO, ND, PharmD, and/or PhD in related field.
  • Experience in academic writing.
  • Demonstrated expertise in teaching multiple areas of IM.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent writing and medical editing skills.
  • Functions well in teams. Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience working with diverse communities.
