Position Summary

The Testing Office is in search of a Receptionist to join its team. The Front Desk Testing Receptionist will be responsible with the maintenance and upkeep of all exams offered in the main testing lab. This includes correspondence with testing companies, SASG, and proctoring all exams offered. Special emphasis is to be given to CLEP exams. Extended hours, and weekends may be required.

This is an ancillary positon and is not benefits eligible. Hours cannot exceed 19 hours/week.

Please Note: Per College Board and Proctoring Requirements, the incumbent must not be currently pursuing an undergraduate degree from any University or have plans to pursue or obtain an undergraduate degree during the course of employment.

Duties & Responsibilities

Attend mandatory national exam proctor training session.
• Perform open and closing duties as dictated in the Front Desk Daily Check-List.
• Work with office’s administrative staff to provide customer support and an environment conducive to testing.
• Check in test candidates, and assist in admitting examinees to computer lab.
• Assist with troubleshooting and any computer problems.
• Monitor test takers in computer lab.
• Schedule exam appointments.
• Respond to client inquiries received through emails, phone calls and responding to voicemails.
• Understand policies and procedures of every exam offered at the Testing Office. This includes national exams, CLEP, math placement, distance learning, ParaPro, PROMETRIC exams, HESI and IELTS.
• Administer National Exams.
• Clean computer lab and front desk daily.
• Collect exam payments.
• Must be available to proctor special projects exams. Including Advanced Placement (AP Exams) offered two week every May.
• Schedule flexibility; may need to work some nights, weekends and Holidays.
• Other Duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
• Ability to effectively communicate.
• Skill in telephone etiquette and courteous communications with public.
• Skill in basic office procedures.
• Skill in the operation of a variety of office machines including, personal computers, telephones and copiers.
• Able to work under the supervision both independently and administrative staff.
•Other duties as assigned.

• Six months telephone, clerical and/or public contact experience; OR,
• Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education approved

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience supervising national or Advanced Placement exams.
