Position Summary

The Media Specialist will support Family and Community Medicine’s (FCM) internal and external digital media including its’ web presence, social media and digital communications. The goal of this position is to promote FCM’s mission and service areas within the department, university and larger community through its’ digital presence.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Work with faculty and staff to configure department websites, populate with content and ensure FCM websites are up-to-date.
  • Create and maintain social media presence for the department with content input from faculty and staff.
  • Create departmental internal and external digital communications including maintaining distribution lists and collecting departmental information.
  • Participate as a team member in outreach and community engagement projects for the department.
  • Maintain up to date information on university publication and branding requirements.
  • There may be additional duties assigned as it relates to this position.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
  • Skill in development and maintenance of social media platforms.
  • Knowledge of web based information dissemination strategies and platforms.
  • Knowledge of current web site development software and architecture.
  • Skill in editing web site content.
  • Ability to work with diverse team members/users.

Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Technology, Communications or related field AND two years of media production and design experience; OR, six years of media production and design experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of experience in web-based information dissemination and website content management.
  • Experience working in editing or maintaining website content in the software application DRUPAL.
