Position Summary

The University of Arizona, Campus Health Service’s (CHS) Health Promotion and Preventive Services (HPPS) department seeks a qualified candidate for the position of Program Aide.

The selected candidate will work with grant staff and key program staff at Yavapai College (YC) in Prescott, AZ to assist in the development and implementation of Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) programming identified in the strategic plan. This individual will also provide information for required reports on programming efforts to the Principle Investigator (PI).

This is a temporary grant funded position and will end on September 29, 2018.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Work with project staff and YC staff to assist in the development of AOD prevention programming, including posters and bulletin boards.
  • Assist in the implementation of AOD prevention programing for students, focusing on reducing underage and high-risk drinking and prescription drug misuse/abuse.
  • Assist with designing and implementing alcohol-free social events on campus.
  • Work with the Student Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention Club.
  • Provide required data monthly to the PI.
  • Additional duties may be assigned by the PI.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, MS Office proficient
  • Have a good understanding of how to reach students through various social media tools (Facebook, Snap Chat, Twitter, etc.) and other types of outreach for information dissemination.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Be available upon hire to work in Prescott, AZ on the YC campus.
  • Desire to develop and implement prevention programming at YC.
  • Capacity to effectively organize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Be available to work some evenings and weekends.

No experience required

Preferred Qualifications
  • Interest in health and wellness issues.
  • Skills with designing flyers and other communications.
  • Experience in working with YC campus departments and its students.
