Position Summary

Sustainable Urban Water Governance
We seek a postdoctoral researcher interested in sustainable urban water policies and practices at the local level. Sustainable urban water solutions include technologies, policies, or programs that foster more resilient and resource-efficient water supplies, wastewater treatment, and/or stormwater management. Our project examines the implementation of sustainable water innovations by local public agencies as well as by networked groups of stakeholders from the public, private, and nonprofit sectors.

Duties & Responsibilities

This postdoctoral researcher will assist project investigators on diverse research tasks such as gathering and reviewing academic literature, design and implementation of survey protocols, interviewing water policy stakeholders, and data analysis. In addition, researchers will work with project team members to engage water policy stakeholders in a series of science-policy workshops across the state of Arizona.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Minimum Qualifications

PhD in public policy, political science, public administration, public management, planning, geography, or related interdisciplinary fields

Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in social science research methods, as well as social science theories of policy change. In addition, candidates should have experience with – or an interest and ability to learn – social network analysis, empirical survey research, and data management and analysis in R.
