Position Summary

The College of Science (COS) is one of the largest colleges at the University of Arizona with 16 departments and 3 schools. Our units encompass the range of physical, mathematical, environmental, cognitive and life sciences. This position will fill a crucial role in support of the decision-making process for COS administrators by providing information, analysis and meaningful documentation, reporting and recommendations for financial, academic and research planning. The successful candidate will report to the Assistant Dean for Business and Finance and will work closely with the other COS senior administrators.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Work closely with COS senior leadership to support ongoing data needs related to student recruitment and retention, RCM, research metrics, and other areas as needed.
  • Collect, analyze and manipulate data to extract meaning and insight. Craft a final product, visualization, or report to develop strategies that significantly improves COS outcomes.
  • Coordinate with COS administrators in all phases data analysis to facilitate decision-making for current operations and strategic planning.
  • Develop processes and create written documentation related to assignments.
  • Learn and apply new tools to improve reporting and data generation.
  • Understand sensitivities that may exist with data and exercise appropriate discretion and safeguards.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Knowledge of and skill in using basic methods of statistical analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of team in a fast paced environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technology, applied analytical disciplines, or business related field, such as Management Information Systems, or a field appropriate to the position.
  • Five years of experience in procedural or business analysis work, including two years of progressively complex experience using automated data reporting tools or Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise; OR, any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.
  • Experience creating meaningful reports that can be understood by individuals with varying levels of knowledge and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge and expertise in UAccess Financials, Employee, Research, Analytics and Student.
  • Highly self-motivated and self-managed; proactive in responding to College needs.
  • Ability to organize and work under strict time and production deadlines, while producing quality deliverables.
