The Facilities Management (FM) team has exciting career opportunities for a broad range of positions that support the overall operations of the campus community. UofA FM employs just over 600 employees and services over 11 million square feet of campus-keeping the grounds beautiful, classrooms clean, and all utilities moving through the campus.

The Facilities Management Grounds Services department is looking for a Groundskeeper to join our team. Grounds Services is an award winning team that cares for the beautiful University of Arizona campus. We are interested in applicants who are passionate about the grounds keeping trade and want to join us in keeping U of A beautiful. From planting and maintaining flowers to trimming trees, our staff ensures the clean and orderly appearance of the grounds, structures, and facilities at the University. Duties & Responsibilities
  • Removes litter and garbage from landscape areas; removes debris from stairs, walks and bike paths.
  • Plants shrubs, trees, ground covers, and flowers.
  • Installs sod and landscape materials such as boulders, decomposed granite, rock and mulch.
  • Prepares, plants and maintains annual flower beds.
  • Trims, prunes, and shears trees, shrubs and ground coversÍž rakes and removes debris.
  • Performs minor irrigation activities such as unplugging sprinkler heads and watering trees, shrubs, ground covers, flowers, and lawns.
  • Operates power tools and vehicles used in the landscape industry, such as blowers, mowers, power shears, chain saws, edgers, weed eaters, and rototiller.
  • Drives standard pickups and utility vehicles.
  • Performs minor maintenance on power equipment and vehicles.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid Driver’s License upon employment.
  • At least two years of licensed driving experience.
  • Effective communication skills.
Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications

One year of groundskeeping experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working for University, School District or City/State Agencies or Parks.
  • State Certified pesticide license.
  • Commercial Drivers License.
