Duties & Responsibilities
  • Schedule, coordinate, and staff Clinical Trials Office (CTO) Committee meetings, including but not limited to, the preparation of review materials, coordinating attendance, and taking minutes during the meeting.
  • Using the OnCore clinical trial management system, administratively review and process submitted projects for completeness and consistency, ensuring that projects that move forward for formal review meet the required criteria and guidelines.
  • Draft formal and informal committee correspondence, including reports, minutes, and communications with researchers.
  • Maintain the committee rosters and contact information.
  • Perform committee related tasks designated by the CTO Manager of Administrative Operations.
  • Serve as an available “Point of Contact” for committee members/chairs, PIs and research staff on matters relating to assigned projects.
  • Abide by standard operating procedures in performing assigned tasks.
  • Maintain established standard office etiquette and performance expectations as set by UACC CTO, Committee Chairs, and University of Arizona policies and procedures.
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable Federal, state and local regulations and guidance through continuing education.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Demonstrated skill in English composition, grammar, spelling and punctuation.
  • Skill in the use of personal computer/software.
  • Knowledge of complex regulations, policies and procedures concerning the conduct of clinical trials.
  • Working knowledge of University policies and procedures related to research administration.
  • Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines.

Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in field appropriate to area of assignment AND two years of administrative/coordinative program experience; OR, six years of progressively responsible administrative coordinative program experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Background in human research, clinical trials and regulatory requirements.
  • Capacity to engage professionally with seasoned and high-level researchers.
  • Previous experience with cancer clinical research.
  • Previous experience with an electronic clinical trial management system.
