Position Summary

The Eller College of Management seeks experienced and highly skilled financial and planning analysts to play a key role in helping shape the future of College financial management and decision support as we develop and build a more robust data and information management infrastructure.

Candidates should possess a high level of demonstrated analytical skill in advanced fiscal analysis and analytical techniques including development of analytical models for complex scenarios using strong technical skills.

The analysts will be key members of implementation, development and refinement of processes and report development. They will take lead roles in college financial processes and projects, acting independently with only general direction and requiring minimal supervision. The positions report directly to and works under the direction and guidance of the college Assistant Dean for Finance and Administration/ Chief Financial Officer.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Serves as a key member of the Finance, Planning and Analysis team in Eller College of Management Administration.
• Performs a number of highly technical functions including advanced fiscal analysis and monitoring, financial modeling, projections, financial planning, management information and report development, and business process improvement for the College.
• Supports the College in establishing a comprehensive data driven information support infrastructure for financial management and management decision support.
• Responsible for developing and tracking financial and budget activity, performing analysis, interpreting, and making recommendations on a broad range of financial and operating issues.
• Extracts data and information from data warehouses, developing complex database, analysis, statistical and projection modeling.
• Identifies and implements process improvements through information and technology integration for improved customer support and resource efficiencies.
• Serves on committees and project teams as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Demonstrated skill in advanced fiscal analysis, revenue and expenditure projections, development of what if scenarios and sophisticated data modeling.
• Demonstrated high level of technical skills with computer based systems, data compilation, and development of complex databases.
• Strong working knowledge of enterprise wide systems with preference for higher education.
• Ability to set priorities and to work comfortably in a fast-paced, fluid, deadline driven environment while providing accurate information.
• Ability to work independently, with stated objectives and only general guidance and oversight.
• Excellent oral presentation, written communication and organizational skills.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with a major in Accounting, Finance, or related area and two years of auditing, cost accounting and/or financial analysis experience
- OR -
Bachelor’s degree with advanced accounting coursework and four years of auditing, cost accounting and/or financial analysis experience
- OR -
any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education
• Experience with enterprise-wide budget and financial information systems, analytical and reporting tools.
