Position Summary

Facilities Management is looking for an experienced Plumber to join our team. Specifically, we are looking for an experienced and versatile plumber to install, repair, and maintain multiple plumbing systems at the University of Arizona. The ideal candidate will possess a confidence in and an enthusiasm for the plumbing trade; and will have a good working knowledge of all aspects of the craft that will enable sound decision making at the job site. We are looking for a self-motivated employee who can hit the ground running.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Installs, repairs, and maintains chilled water, steam, heat, water, gas, drainage, sewage and other plumbing systems.
  • Studies plans, drawings, specifications and work orders to determine work requirements and sequence of repairs and/or installations.
  • Performs preventative maintenance work as required.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must have valid driver’s license and at least two years of driving experience upon employment.
Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications

Six years of plumbing experience; OR, completion of a four year federally approved technical training program in plumbing; OR, any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of steam systems and components.
  • Working knowledge of chilled water systems including installation and maintenance.
  • Experience in pipe fitting and welding.
  • Experience with commercial plumbing systems.
