Position Summary

The Department of Psychology at the University of Arizona is seeking a full-time lecturer for a non-tenure track faculty position beginning
August 2018 or earlier to begin teaching in the Fall 2018 semester. The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate
classes in psychology, including but not limited to introductory psychology, statistics, and research methods. Candidates should have prior experience teaching undergraduate courses in these fields. The ideal applicant will be proficient in statistics and be capable of creating and teaching courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level, both for in-person and online delivery.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Teach 5-6 undergraduate courses per year.
  • Prepare and update course materials.
  • Carry out all activities related to teaching.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate graduate teaching assistants and preceptors.
  • Participate in other activities related to undergraduate teaching.
  • Hold regular office hours.
  • Participate in departmental faculty meetings.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Psychology or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of experience teaching undergraduate students.
  • Ability to interact effectively with faculty, staff, and advisors in Psychology.
  • Ability to teach advanced statistics.
  • Experience with statistical consulting is a plus.
  • Experience teaching large in-person courses; experience with online teaching
