Position Summary

The University of Arizona (UA), Campus Health Service’s (CHS) Counseling & Psych Services (CAPS) department seeks a licensed Psychologist to provide psychological evaluation, crisis management and brief treatment for UA students.

This position will also participate in consultation and outreach within the University community, and may include responsibilities for program assessment and related research efforts to demonstrate program effectiveness.

It is desired that the chosen candidate for this position will assist in the development and implementation of a multidisciplinary, ADHD screening and management program.

Number of Hours Worked per Week: 40; occasional evening or Weekend hours, and possible extended hours TBD.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Work cooperatively as part of a multidisciplinary campus based health and mental health team.
  • Provide psychological evaluation and assessment, crisis management and brief treatment to UA students (individuals, couples, groups).
  • Participate in program evaluation, quality improvement efforts, and related program assessment.
  • Provide psychological evaluation and psychoeducation treatment for students with ADHD.
  • Participate in outreach, prevention and educational services.
  • Provide psychological consultation to families, University faculty, staff, administrators and CHS medical providers.
  • Provide services in a manner which is professional, culturally sensitive, and respectful of differences.
  • Engage in psychoeducational program development and implementation, in-service training, case management, participation in supervision of CAPS trainees, and utilization of relevant information technology.
  • Participate in relevant CHS and University wide committees.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Strong computer, research, data management, and outcome assessment skills.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Licensed as a Psychologist by the Arizona State Board of Psychologist Examiners or eligible for licensure in the State of Arizona with the requirement to obtain licensure within one year of hire date.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of post-doctoral professional experience.
  • Experience in utilizing a brief therapy model of care.
  • Experience with ADHD assessment and psychoeducational services.
  • Clinical experience in a college health or counseling setting.
  • Experience working with multi-cultural clients and/or those for whom English is not a first language.
  • Experience using psychological assessment instruments.
  • Knowledge and integration of mindfulness skills into clinical practice
