Position Summary

The Kacar Lab (kacarlab.org) at the University of Arizona is looking to hire a Research Specialist. Our lab works at the interface of molecular and experimental evolution, genome engineering, biochemistry, molecular biology and astrobiology.

Duties & Responsibilities

The researcher will oversee the lab’s day-to-day operations, including ordering supplies, keeping inventory, maintaining laboratory stock, following safety regulations, assisting and training other lab members and contributing to the development of a new experimental approaches that involve reconstructing ancient molecular components and observing their biological functions in modern microbial cells.

Minimum Qualifications
Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment (such as Molecular Biology, Microbiology or Cell Biology) AND two years related research experience; OR, Six years research experience appropriate to the area of assignment; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications

Communicational Skills and the ability to collaborate with others.
Any experience with scienitic research will be hightly prefered
