Position Summary

Develops, presents and helps to coordinate 4-H youth development educational activities, projects and programs.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provides leadership for 4-H youth development club programs, including fair and camp, with major responsibility for the development of methods and procedures within established guidelines, as determined by the 4-H team
  • Reviews and evaluates effectiveness of teaching methods and work activities
  • Recruits, interviews and trains volunteers in subject matter and methodology, utilizing specialized knowledge and skills, and oversees the 4-H youth development volunteer certification program
  • Organizes, promotes, coordinates and conducts 4-H projects and programs with adult volunteers and youth
  • Develops or creates training programs and materials for various 4-H youth development programs
  • Prepares assignments, curriculum, activities and other materials
  • Directs evaluation activities, including design, data gathering, analysis and report writing
  • Assists Agent in the development of programs and program proposals as required
  • Supervises/monitors the activities of 4-H youth development volunteers including club financial record keeping
  • Answers and provides information to questions relating to the completion of all 4-H forms, meetings, etc.; ensures all 4-H volunteers and units follow prescribed policies and procedures
  • Driving University vehicles around Pinal and various counties in Arizona
  • Serves as liaison with 4-H related entities such as Junior Livestock Committee and Pinal Fairgrounds Board
  • Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Minimum Qualifications
  • A valid driver’s license with the ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy and access to reliable transportation is required upon employment.
Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in field appropriate to area of assignment AND two years of administrative/coordinative program experience; OR, six years of progressively responsible administrative coordinative program experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.
