Position Summary

The University of Arizona’s College of Nursing is one of the country’s most respected research institutions and a leader in health-sciences education and scholarship. We are seeking clinical scholars to engage in innovative teaching/learning in support of the ‘entry to practice’ programs which include our Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Master’s Entry to Professional Nursing (MEPN) programs and to participate in relevant college activities.

This position will collaborate with Program Coordinator and lead faculty to teach and guide students. Program needs are sporadic throughout the year. This is an on-call, per diem position with hourly pay and no minimum requirement of hours.

Duties & Responsibilities

Teaching/Learning:

  • Instruct students in clinical settings and/or classroom-based theory and practical courses.
  • Participate in course and/or clinical planning and orientation.
  • Provide classroom, skills lab and simulation support.
  • Facilitate course learning objectives and related activities.
  • Grade assignments, presentations, and projects.
  • Assist with testing needs and competency evaluation.
  • Participate in course evaluation and continuous course improvement as needed.
  • Facilitate cooperative relationships with practice leaders at clinical experiential learning sites.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (or relevant degree if Masters or above in Nursing).
  • Arizona Nursing License.
  • Clinical experience in a focused nursing practice role.
  • Comfortable speaking/presenting to a class.
  • Skill in written and verbal communication and constructive feedback.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing.
  • Successful college or university teaching experiences.
  • Experience with a variety of interactive teaching methods and curricular perspectives.
  • Experience in hybrid curriculum and course development and delivery.
