Housing and Residential Life is seeking an individual who shares the mission and core values to assist its Assistant Director of Finance Analysis and Budget with oversight and operation of the department’s human resources and payroll functions.

Duties & Responsibilities

Prepare financial reports using statistical and financial data extracted from various sources, including Housing and Residential Life’s occupancy management system, university enterprise and budget planning systems. This is accomplished by using the knowledge of financial data analysis, financial data collection and financial reporting. Investigate operational variances to the budget through interviewing key personnel, assessing staffing patterns and reviewing operating expense trends. This is accomplished by using the knowledge of financial data analysis, financial data collection and financial reporting. Prepare annual budgets by working with department heads which provides a framework for the organization to achieve fiscal goals. This is accomplished by using the knowledge of financial data analysis, financial data collection and financial reporting. Prepare quarterly reports for department leadership to identify budget variances and assess the fiscal health of the department. This is accomplished by using the knowledge of financial data analysis, financial data collection and financial reporting. Use proper cost accounting practices to ensure accurate reporting and allocation of both revenue and expenses to specific departmental units. This is accomplished by using the knowledge of financial data analysis, financial data collection and financial reporting. Administer the university’s enterprise budget and planning system within Housing and Residential Life. Provide user training and support as necessary. This is accomplished by using the knowledge of financial data analysis, financial data collection and financial reporting. Responsible for the Request for Proposal (RFP) process within Housing and Residential Life. Work with Procurement to facilitate contract development with potential vendors. This is accomplished by using the knowledge of financial data analysis, financial data collection and financial reporting. Provide department leadership with support in analyzing new projects to assess financial feasibility. This is accomplished by using the knowledge of financial data analysis, financial data collection and financial reporting.

Housing & Residential Life is a security sensitive department, and this position requires a finger-print criminal background check; Motor Vehicle Division Check.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration and two years experience in financial analysis or accounting.
