Position Summary

The University of Arizona Health Sciences, College of Pharmacy-Phoenix, Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science seeks a qualified candidate for the position of Program Coordinator, Senior. The selected candidate will work with college faculty, staff, administration, and students to coordinate, schedule, and plan academic programs and events.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement programs for academic activities; collaborate with student services, faculty, student organizations, and instructional support to schedule rooms and video conferencing for all classes, extracurricular, and co-curricular activities on the Phoenix Campus.
  • Perform needs assessments; work directly with faculty and under the supervision of an academic leader to plan for and coordinate classroom facilitation, prepare classroom materials, make arrangements for guest instructors, and provide instructional support.
  • Prepare reports and evaluate program effectiveness; identify potential disparities and assist in identifying solutions.
  • Serve as a resource to students on the Phoenix Campus: assist students with special needs, assist student organizations, process student forms, reserve rooms for student meetings, and coordinate student building access.
  • Coordinate exam scheduling and proctoring; prepare exam material and proctor exams; assist students with exam software installation, and ensure assure software is updated.
  • Work directly with faculty and under the supervision of an academic leader to recruit and schedule volunteer facilitators; responsible for communicating schedules, parking, and room locations with volunteers; assist faculty with delivering materials to facilitators and assisting facilitators while on site.
  • Assist Student Services with event planning for various events.
  • Participate in the teaching of Pharmaceutics Laboratory.

  • Knowledge of supervisory practices and principles.
  • Skill in budget preparation and forecasting.

Bachelor’s degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND four years of administrative/coordinative program experience; OR, Master’s degree in field appropriate to area of assignment AND three years of administrative/ coordinative program experience; OR, eight years of progressively responsible administrative/ coordinative program experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.
