Position Summary

The Office of Academic Affairs at the University of Arizona is accepting applications for Developer, Applications/Databases. This position is responsible for the development and maintenance of applications and associated databases that support the Responsibility Centered Management (RCM) at the Office of the Provost. Independent, analytical and critical thinking skills are necessary to be successful in this position. The ability to develop complex analysis to answer complex questions utilizing advanced statistical methods is also necessary.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and document the RCM Oracle SQL application.
• Provide technical expertise relating RCM processes and data
• Maintain all databases, both local and AWS related to RCM.
• Demonstrate critical thinking in the analysis, documentation, and report preparation of data
• Maintain local and AWS RDS Databases and network connections
• Assist with data validation during RCM snapshot cycles
• Support the documentation and analysis of input/output requirements
• Lead in the creation of new reports to assist management
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in AND a minimum of three (3) years of directly comparable experience
• Demonstrated proficiency with Oracle SQL and set processing
• Experience in managing and monitoring AWS RDS databases
• Knowledge of DNS, TCP and network technologies
• Ability to read and translate Access SQL into Oracle SQL.
• Familiar with programing applications using student and financial data.
• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills with demonstrated experience in a professional setting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to establish rapport and gain trust of others and to establish cooperative working relationships.
• Ability to prioritize various critical tasks assigned and to negotiate deadlines.
• Ability to be creative, supportive, and thoughtful in problem-solving, considering the diverse and occasionally conflicting needs and perspectives of the campus community and the institution.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment; prioritizing tasks and responsibilities and responding positively to unanticipated changes and meeting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters in Management Information Systems
• Experience with RCM related data
• Experience in higher education
• Experience with data analysis and enterprise reporting
• Experience with University of Arizona business systems and processes
