Position Summary

In collaboration with the Senior Director for External Relations, Arts, Culture, and Society and the Marketing Manager, the Program Coordinator, Marketing and Development will help plan and implement marketing and development strategies for the University of Arizona Museum of Art and Center for Creative Photography. This position will work with the digital aspects of marketing and communications to grow awareness of and interest in the Center and Museum. This position will also help grow donor bases and funding for both institutions through the coordination of fundraising and awareness events.

External Relations, Arts, Culture, and Society under the office of Research, Discovery & Innovation is an Advancement team in service of The Center for Creative Photography and University of Arizona Museum of Art. Fundamentally, Research, Discovery & Innovation is responsible for advancing transformative excellence in sixteen research units across campus, with particular attention to our land-grant mission of service to the State of Arizona.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Work with Marketing Manager to develop and implement marketing and communications strategy
• Coordinate the Center and Museum’s email marketing schedule and programs
• Creating and sourcing content for email announcements
• Coordinate the Center and Museum’s e-newsletters, including scheduling, editing, and designing.
• Create engaging content for multiple social media channels, and track reach and impact
• Stay up-to-date with current trends in email and social media marketing and recommend strategies to align the Center and Museum with those trends.
• Maintain the Center and Museum websites, including sourcing and creating content.
• Maintain master calendar and schedule of events for Center and Museum activities
• Assist Marketing Manager with promoting events, programs, and exhibitions
• Assist Marketing Manager with preparation of digital collateral materials
• Provide occasional graphic design supervision/oversight
• Work with team to develop and execute consistent communication to cultivate and grow donor base
• Plan and execute small and large scale fundraising and awareness events, including coordinating expenses and revenue
• Manage budgeting of Development related events in coordination with Senior Director
• Assist with proposal preparation for funding and/or funding continuation from outside sponsors.
• Assist with current and prospective donor research
• Supervise and coordinate the activity of student workers and interns
• Serve as liaison to donors, outside agencies and the public
• Additional duties may be assigned

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Minimum Qualifications

In addition to the ABOR Minimum Qualifications below:

• Excellent writing and editing skills (samples required)
• Experience in Marketing, Communications, Development or related field.
• Experience in event planning and logistics for small and large scale events
• Experience in project management (proactive/self-starter)
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
• Ability to work under pressure and be flexible
• Exceptional customer service and donor stewardship abilities
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Knowledge of Drupal and Wordpress
• Experience in or passion for the arts
• Many nights and weekends will be required.

Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in field appropriate to area of assignment AND two years of administrative/coordinative program experience; OR, six years of progressively responsible administrative coordinative program experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite
• Familiarity with Google Analytics and social media scheduling programs
• Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge
