Position Summary

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry- Sci. is searching for candidates for temporary positions for Instructional Specialist, Senior for Fall 2017 and/or Spring 2018. The number of candidates selected and the exact dates of the position(s) will depend upon the teaching needs of the department. The successful candidates will assist the course instructor with Chemistry and/or Biochemistry labs. They will also grade for the corresponding lecture course(s).

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist with Chemistry and/or Biochemistry teaching labs.
  • Prepare pre-lab lectures.
  • Convey safety procedure to students.
  • Grade lab reports and quizzes.
  • Assess lab practices of students.
  • Proctor and grade for the lecture course.
  • Assist in tutoring room duties.
  • Assist with various duties determined by course supervisor(s).
  • Additional duties may apply.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience assisting with undergraduate labs.
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate chemical knowledge to students.
Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND one year of instructional or subject work experience; OR, five years of progressively responsible instructional or subject work experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications
Full Time/Part Time To be determined.
