Position Summary

The Department of Spanish and Portuguese at the University of Arizona is accepting applications for multiple one year nontenure-eligible Adjunct Lecturer positions in Spanish. These positions are for the 2017/2018 academic year.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. at the time of appointment. Significant university or college level teaching experience is required. Preference will be given to candidates who meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Teach 3-4 Spanish courses per semester
• Lecture on the material outlined in the
department’s course syllabi
• Maintain office hours for students
• Administer and grade exams
• Attend instructional meetings
• Recruit Spanish majors and minors
• Other duties as assigned

• Second language acquisition knowledge

Minimum Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Spanish
• Significant university or college level teaching experience
• Native or near native proficiency in Spanish
