Position Summary

The Department of Internal Medicine at The University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix invites talented research scientists to apply for this junior faculty position in pulmonary vascular disease or in related field of biomedical research.

The preference will be given to applicants with outstanding scholarly accomplishments and active extramurally funded research programs.

Applicants must possess a PhD and post-doctoral training in the proposed field of study.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop a nationally recognized and continuously funded research program in the field of pulmonary vascular disease, hepatopulmonary syndrome or other related lung/liver vascular diseases.
  • Demonstrate scholarly activity by publishing results in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Participate in both undergraduate and graduate education, and in advising duties and committee assignments.
  • Expand collaborative efforts with The University of Arizona biomedical scientists and physician scientists.
  • Participate as a productive member of the Department and the College through impactful scholarly work and good citizenship.
  • There may be additional duties assigned as it relates to this position.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in related field of study.
  • Post-doctoral training in the area of research and experience commensurate with appointment at the rank of assistant professor.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated scholarly accomplishment in research.
  • Demonstrated experience as principal investigator.
  • Demonstrated evidence or strong potential of active extramural funding.
  • Outstanding record of research accomplishments.
  • Demonstrated experience in submitting grant proposals and supervising research staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively.
