Position Information

Title Coordinator, Industry Program
Department Career Development (8301)
Location Main Campus
Position Summary

The Coordinator, Industry Program is a full-time position for a collaboratively-minded professional who is passionate about creating and executing opportunities for students to explore their interests in different career fields and provide them with assistance in pursuing that interest by gaining relevant skills and connections.

The Coordinator, Industry Program will work in the Employer and Alumni Engagement program area within Student Engagement & Career Development, a unit whose mission is to ensure the University of Arizona inspires and prepares all graduates to create lives of opportunity aligned with their purpose and values.

In this role, you will help us identify critical career areas to focus on and coordinate skill-building activities (like our Fast Track industry education programs), opportunities for meaningful interaction with alumni and potential employers, and brief experiential learning opportunities (job shadowing and employer treks) that relate to those areas, and develop a strategy to market to students.

You don’t have to be an expert in every industry or job function; you will work with our Employer and Alumni Engagement team to understand job markets for UA students and identify industry experts who can help us build an infrastructure that enables students to tap into industry networks and customized resources. In doing this, you will contribute to a long-term strategy to educate employers on our campus recruiting tools and help us expand the number and diversity of employers who recognize the UA as a premier source of college talent.

If you’re comfortable prototyping and piloting new initiatives, leveraging technology to solve problems and inform decisions, and building authentic, customer service-oriented relationships with alumni, employers, and other stakeholders, this might be the job for you

Student Engagement and Career Development supports the UA’s diversity and inclusiveness strategic initiatives designed to create an inclusive environment for all faculty, staff, and students. The candidate chosen for this position will be expected to support diversity and inclusiveness efforts in the department and college.

Outstanding UA benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance plans; life insurance and disability programs; paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays; UA/ASU/NAU tuition reduction for the employee and qualified family members; state and optional retirement plans; access to UA recreation and cultural activities; and more!

Accepting a new position is a big life step. We want potential candidates and their families to be able to make informed decisions. Candidates who are considering relocation to the Tucson or Phoenix area, and have been offered an on-site interview, are encouraged to use the free services offered by Above & Beyond Relocation Services (ABRS).Ask your department contact to be introduced to ABRS prior to your visit.
