Position Summary

The University of Arizona Health Sciences Center (UAHS) is seeking multiple, part-time Simulation Instructors. Successful candidates will instruct American Heart Association (AHA) courses (BLS, ACLS, PALS) including all applicable didactic materials and operating all associated simulation technology (human patient simulators, task trainers, etc.) for the Arizona Simulation Technology and Education Center (ASTEC).

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Instructor for all BLS, ACLS, PALS, and other AHA approved courses.
  • Operate all simulation technology associated with each certification.
  • Attention to detail and effective time management.
  • Responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating the learning experiences.
  • Provide student guidance.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Skill in medical assessment techniques.
  • Ability to effectively communicate.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently holds or is in the process of obtaining AHA Instructor Status.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience training AHA courses.
  • Experience in healthcare education.
  • Experience working with simulation technology.
  • Good handwriting.
  • Essential Physical Requirements may include:
    • Twisting (trunk)

    • Gripping/Grasping
    • Reaching below shoulder level
    • Kneeling
    • Lifting/Pushing/Pulling/Carrying
