Position Summary

Please note: the Review Date has been udpated to 08/04/2017.This position will work in the laboratories of Drs. Jennifer Carew and Steffan Nawrocki. Our lab is focused on the discovery and development of novel anticancer agents that target mechanisms of protein turnover and acetylation. We are seeking a highly motivated and independent individual with a track record of research achievement to become a key member of our team. Candidates must have a doctoral degree, first authored peer-reviewed original publications, and expertise in cancer biology, pharmacology, or molecular biology. Prior experience working with mouse models of cancer is required. Special consideration will be given to applicants who have experience evaluating the mechanisms of action and efficacy of experimental anticancer agents.

Interested applicants should have a very strong background in biology, chemistry, and/or molecular and cellular biology methodologies. The successful candidate will perform independent research utilizing techniques and animal experiments using advanced methods and procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Design and perform in vitro and in vivo assays to test novel therapeutic anticancer agents.
  • Investigate the mechanisms of action of novel therapeutic agents.
  • Evaluate and analyze data.
  • Present data at scientific meetings.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Minimum Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree.
  • First authored peer-reviewed original publications.
  • Expertise in cancer biology, pharmacology, or molecular biology.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience evaluating the mechanisms of action and efficacy of experimental anticancer agents.
