Position Summary

The Wiens lab in the Department of Ecology at the University of Arizona is seeking a postdoctoral researcher for an NSF-funded project focusing on frog phylogenomics, phylogenetic methods, and frog ecomorph evolution. The primarily role of the postdoc will in collecting and analyzing new phylogenomic data obtained using ultraconserved elements (UCEs), and integrating these data with existing molecular data for frogs. The postdoc will also be involved in testing general questions about phylogenomic methodology. The position is for two years, starting in the summer or Fall 2017.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Biology or related subjects
  • The candidate is minimally expected to have a background in phylogenomics (specifically, phylogenetics with next-generation sequence data), with experience in both data collection and data analysis.
Preferred Qualifications

Some knowledge of phylogenetic theory and frog systematics. An interest in phylogenetic theory is also desirable. Familiarity with frogs and frog phylogeny would be beneficial, but are not necessary.
