Position Summary

The Bilgin Lab at The University of Arizona conducts research on acquisition, reconstruction, processing, and analysis of signals and images. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will participate in projects that aim to analyze and design image processing and compression systems.

Duties & Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be responsible for developing image processing, image compression, and data analysis algorithms, developing software tools with the objective of using, managing, and analyzing very large images, coordinating and providing support for data analysis conducted by other researchers, writing or contributing to technical reports and scholarly research publications.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

The position requires detailed knowledge of JPEG2000 compression standard and software.

Minimum Qualifications

PhD in electrical engineering or related subject upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with image compression methods for digital pathology images will be considered a plus.
