Position Summary

The University of Arizona has an opening for a postdoctoral position in primate neurophysiology in the Department of Physiology, College of Medicine.

We are inviting applications for a postdoctoral trainee interested in working on the neural basis of natural social behaviors in non-human primates. The applicant will have access to state-of-the art equipment, facilities, and will work in a team with established expertise in behavioral neurophysiology of the amygdala.

Candidates should have a PhD in neuroscience, psychology, biomedical engineering, or related field. Strong computational skill and communication skills are required. Experience in neurophysiology is preferred.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform neural experiments and explore patterns of neural activity.
  • Prepare for electrophysiological recordings, neurophysiological recordings for experiments.
  • Analyze data and provide information to the PI.
  • Attend lab meetings to learn new experimental approaches, techniques and methods.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications
  • PhD in neuroscience or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in systems or computational neuroscience.
  • Expertise in single unit physiology, strong analytical and programming skills, and expertise in data analysis and statistics are essential.
