Position Summary

Student Affairs and Enrollment Management is seeking applicants for the position of Director, Student Affairs Systems Groups (SASG). This position is responsible for all aspects of oversight for a midsized IT organization supporting over 1,700 employees in 23 departments within Student Affairs & Enrollment Management and Academic Initiative & Student Success. SASG provides desktop and infrastructure support, website and application development and hosting, and data analysis and reporting services.
Departments supported by SASG include but are not limited to Undergraduate Admissions, Registrar, Scholarship & Financial Aid, Dean of Students, Student Engagement and Career Development, Campus Recreation, Enrollment Management and others.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Supervises the SASG leadership team which includes 7 members
• Defines, develops and directs unit mission, scope and operational priorities, standards, policies and implementation plans
• Plans, organizes, directs and controls project teams and all business aspects related to large/complex information technology projects
• Directs analysis, communicates with colleagues and senior management to provide input into policy, procedures, strategic planning decisions and the resolution of operational issues
• Participates in the evaluation of emerging technologies; reviews recommendations and approves hardware, software, and other necessary resources
• Leads and provides analysis direction for staff project
• Coaches and writes staff performance evaluations
• Maintains oversight of all SASG projects and coordinates resources and timelines with staff and clients

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Minimum Qualifications

• 7 years of progressively responsible information technology experience, including three years of supervisory experience OR
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related field and five years of information technology experience which include three years of supervisory experience OR
• Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related field
• Demonstrated experience in project management starting with gathering requirements through construction and testing phases and into maintenance mode
• Skill in defining program objectives and establishing information technology policies and budgets
• Experience in managing the work of technical staff and professional associates
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
