Position Summary

The University of Arizona Athletics Department invites applications for the position of ICA, Ticket Sales Specialist, Extended Temporary Employee. This is an opportunity to build upon and develop practical experience in ticket sales, promotional events, sales prospecting, and phone skills that play a critical role in the methodology of the Sphere of Influence. The successful candidate must be extremely driven, a self-starter, exceptionally organized and still present a self-effacing demeanor. This position will have the opportunity to work with Outbound Ticket Sales, Marketing and Development. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Director of Ticket Sales and Assistant Director of Sales.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist with day-to-day operations of the Outbound Ticket Sales Team
  • Sell Season and Group Ticket Packages for Football, Basketball, Baseball, and all Olympic Sports
  • Make 60 outbound calls on a daily basis to sell seasons, partial plans, and groups
  • Work with marketing and sales to coordinate advertising and ticket promotions for designated sports
  • Assist in the implementation of the training program and work with the sales team to keep their skills current
  • Work all home games as needed, performing various ticket sales and service duties, fulfilling events, servicing groups, and prospecting new sales throughout the game
  • Attend Networking events to develop a Sphere of Influence, utilizing networking to gain new leads for season and group packages
  • Assist in supervision of student workers
  • Create material for internal use, work on mailings, and organize campaigns
  • Organize and maintain group lists and group letters for emails and mailing
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public
  • Ability to work extended hours including nights and weekends
Arizona Board of Regents Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s degree in Marketing or field appropriate to area of assignment AND two years progressively responsible and directly applicable experience in retail sales of highly technical products and/or specialized merchandise including one year supervisory experience; OR, four years progressively responsible retail sales experience, which includes two years progressively responsible and directly applicable experience in retail sales of highly technical products and/or specialized merchandise including one year supervisory experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Sports Administration or Business Administration/Marketing
  • 1-2 years sales experience
  • Experience working in college athletics or sports marketing organization
  • Experience with outbound ticket sales
  • Working knowledge with Spectra or another ticketing system
  • Personal computer proficiency in the following applications: Microsoft Word and Excel
